The meeting was called to order. A quorum was present. The opening prayer was given by Rev. Trip McKinnon.
The minutes of the last Session meeting were approved as well as the minutes from the Jan 26, 2020 Congregational Annual Meeting.
The financial report was received for January. Total church fund balance as of Jan 31, 2020 was $89,527.45.
Administrative reports from Personnel Committee and the Pastor’s Report was heard. It was noted in the Pastor’s report that the Presbytery of Southern Kansas has a new executive, Gail Doering. She will begin her work on March 2. Rev. Trip requested permission to attend a small church conference the middle of March, requiring the March Session meeting to be moved to March 25. The request was granted. There will be other people leading worship on the Sundays of March 15 and 22. There will be an evening Bible Study beginning March 4 at 5:30 pm using the same material as the Monday Morning Fellowship: Making Sense of the Bible by Adam Hamilton.
Committee Reports were received.
Property – tree trimming bid of $4,685 be accepted, latches for the east hall doors have been ordered and new lamps for the projector have been ordered. Elder Wayne Orr made a motion to use Memorial funds to pay for the tree trimming; seconded and approved.
A cub pack has requested permission to have Trinity as a sponsor. Motion to approve was passed.
Special Offerings for 2020 were recommended as follows: One Great Hour of Sharing, Pentecost, Peace & Global Witness, Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Joy, and Deacons’ Christmas Fund. This was approved.
Elder Jan Fritchman requested that the program “Fill the Gap” which provides food for children’s backpack be given the Kansas Food Bank’s donation ($300) for one month. Motion by Lana Bruggeman was seconded and approved.
